Minor S278 Technical Approvals
M2 Consulting specialise in obtaining Section 278 technical approval for residential and commercial projects. We produce all our design submissions in accordance with national and local design standards, and we prepare and submit a comprehensive set of design drawings to the local authority for their approval.
What we do
We create a comprehensive design for the junction or site access, which usually has already received planning approval.
This detailed design is necessary to obtain technical approval, enabling the developer to enter into a S278 agreement with the local authority. Our design encompasses both horizontal and vertical alignment, ensuring that all proposed construction details and methods comply with the local authority’s design criteria.
We deliver a complete set of drawings, conduct the necessary utility searches and diversions (if needed), offer a response from road safety audit designers, and supply the legal highway agreement drawing.

After a successful planning process, the approval was granted with a condition stipulating the necessity of obtaining a 278 technical approval for the vehicular access and related footway works on the highway.
Our client tasked us with managing the process, as well as creating the design and drawings needed to secure technical approval from the local authority.
