We collate all of the information in tabulated format and compile a single existing utility drawing for clarity;
we can also manage the process of securing diversion designs and timescales.
What we do
We undertake a comprehensive search of all utilities in the vicinity of the proposal, and compile the data of existing utility infrastructure within the area of your project. We provide this data to you direct from the provider, in our spreadsheet/tabulated format, and produce an existing utility drawing showing all compiled information.
Once existing apparatus is assessed, we liaise with the utility providers to obtain C3 (estimate) and C4 (detailed) quotations and designs where diversions are required.
What is the utility search and diversion process?
- C2 – Initial enquiries to ascertain the location of existing utility apparatus and whether these will be affected by the works
- C3 – Budget estimate for works that may need undertaking to divert or alter affected existing utilities
- C4 – Detailed estimate and design for the diversion or alteration to existing utility apparatus

In the course of obtaining technical approval for our client, it was necessary to conduct a C2 utility search. The findings from this search were to be submitted to the local authority as a component of the technical approval process. Should any utilities be affected, a C3 budget diversion cost would need to be established to incorporate any necessary diversions.
